Lee has been a Quo fan since the late 1970s when a friend lent him a copy of the “Blue For You” album. Buying the “Just Supposin’” album was the start of a very long Quo journey!
Living in the UK until 1999, he crammed in almost 200 Quo gigs across the UK and Europe after his first gig on 13th December 1986 at Birmingham NEC. After moving to Australia. Lee has continued his Quo passion, notching up another 100+ gigs in Australia and back over in the UK and Europe.
Lee is an avid Quo collector and has amassed one of the best collections of Quo’s recorded material and memorabilia in Australia.
He runs the Access All Areas website (www.leehawkins.com), which includes the Ultimate Quo Gig List, his attempt to compile the best online list of Quo’s live concerts. He is also making his huge Quo scrapbook collection available online via the same website.
Although Lee has written extensively about Quo (in fan club magazines, fanzines, etc.), this is his first Quo book and he hopes it makes for interesting reading for the Australian and New Zealand fans, as well as more broadly for Quo fans around the world.
Lee lives on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula (near Melbourne in Australia) with his wife, Ky, and rescue dog, Lola.
